A fence is going up on a disputed piece of Caledonia land.

The Haudenosaunee Development Institute began construction of a fence on the north side of the former Douglas Creek Estates. Haldimand County says it will simply divide the northern border of the land from an adjacent subdivision.

The director of HDI says the fence is meant to keep the peace and protect the safety of everyone.
