NDP leader Thomas Mulcair was in Dundas today announcing a plan to help small business, but the location of today’s event may have been part of the NDP strategy to win a valuable local race in a brand new riding.
Mulcair took a side step when asked if this riding is a must win for the NDP. “We plan to win all the ridings, and don’t forget we already hold 3 ridings here in Hamilton and we’re gonna come and get this one as well.”
The previous riding of Ancaster Dundas Flamborough Westdale has been split. Incumbent MP David Sweet is running in the new riding Flamborough-Glanbrook, making this one, Hamilton West – Dundas – Ancaster, wide open with 3 new candidates.
