New details on Dundas Teen’s murder

First Published:

Seventeen-year-old Abdalla Hassan was shot and killed, his body found in his family’s car in Dundas Monday night.

Video of what appears to be 4 young men, 13 minutes before police were called to the murder scene on a rural road in Dundas. Investigators are still looking at images to see if the people have anything to do with the crime. Then, 3 minutes later, what looks like the Hassan family car drives by. Within 10 minutes, 17 year old Abdalla Hassan was shot to death. Police located him in his parents car in this forest.

Tire tracks from the road go straight into a wooded conservation area, but the car avoided all of the trees.

A neighbour told us that his wife was travelling along Patterson at the time of the murder, when she noticed a car down in this forest area with three teens standing outside. They called police who arrested two 16 year olds and a 15 year old. Charged with 1st degree murder.

Detective Sergeant Steve Bereziuk is in charge of the case and says a firearm was recovered. He continued speaking with witnesses today, as forensics focussed on what was found at the scene. Police working to determine what happened in the moments leading up to the targeted murder.

One of the teens appeared in court again this morning, this time his father was present and he will be back again next week. Tomorrow, the 15 year old charged is set to appear before a judge with a parent present to ensure they are aware of the charge against him. We’re not allowed to release the accused’s names because they are minors.
