A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital late Tuesday following a two-vehicle collision on the Jolley Cut in Hamilton.

Police say a 28-year-old man was riding a motorcycle in the upbound lanes around 7:15 p.m. when he crossed into the downbound lanes and collided with a Toyota Corolla.

Emergency crews arrived on scene and the motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Toyota, a 63-year-old man, also suffered minor injuries.

The Jolley Cut was closed for several hours as police investigated the collision.
