Ontario Provincial Police say a male motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a dump truck on Hwy. 407 in Pickering.

Durham EMS responded to the call around 7:20 a.m. Monday on Hwy. 407 near Brock Rd.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, said OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.

He’s been identified as a 38-year-old man from Whitby.

According to Schmidt, it appears the truck was entering into construction zone on median between the eastbound and westbound lanes.

The motorcycle approached from the rear.

All westbound lanes of the 407 were closed from Brock Rd. to York-Durham Line for the police investigation.
