Motorcyclist in hospital after fleeing crash scene: Halton police

Halton police say a motorcyclist is in hospital after allegedly attempting to flee the scene of a crash in Oakville.

Police were called to a collision at the intersection of Speers Rd. and Fourth Ln. around 1 a.m. Sunday.

It’s alleged the driver of a motorcycle ran a red light and struck a van in the intersection.

Police say the motorcyclist, a 42-year-old Brampton man, attempted to flee the scene but was located a short time later by police. He was taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit and Forensic Identification Unit were called in to investigate.

A portion of the intersection was closed for roughly four hours.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact 905-825-4747, 5065.
