Mother arrested in baby disappearance

York Regional Police have charged a 23-year old mother in connection with the death of her baby.

The father, 31-year old Ricky Doodhnaught was arrested earlier this month and charged with abducting his nine-week-old son.

But he then told police the baby died around November 1st.

Police say the baby’s remains haven’t been found.

Doodhnaught will be in court December 30th.

Today, police charged Nadia Ayyad with indignity to a dead body, failing to provide the necessities of life and obstructing police.

She will be in court Thursday morning.

Police say the pair have a large circle of family and friends and are appealing to them to come forward with any information.
