HAPPENING NOW:

Emily Vukovic was in Virgil at Caroline Cellars Family Estate Winery, learning about the history of the winery and tasting their wide array of wines.
The winery was founded in 1978 by their grandmother, Caroline Lakeit, who established the full operation, including the main wine bar, restaurant, and event hall. It is currently run by three generations of the family.
At the winery they offer samplings of plum wines, ice wines, and various fruit wines, which can be paired with dishes like duck and a selection of cheeses, in an atmosphere that is casual and welcoming, especially for those new to wine.
There is also a restaurant situated next to the main winery entrance, where they emphasize locally sourced ingredients from nearby farmers, and upstairs is an event space, which is ideal for weddings.
