CHCH TV’s Morning Live, the region’s trusted morning news source for more than two decades, is proud to welcome veteran broadcaster Rick Zamperin as its new co-anchor.

Rick is a familiar face, and voice, to viewers and listeners across the Hamilton, Halton and Niagara regions. With more than 30 years of experience in local radio and sports broadcasting, he brings deep connections to the community and a warmth that has made him one of our regions’ most respected journalists.

“Morning Live has always felt like family to me, even from the other side of the screen,” said Zamperin. “I’ve spent my career telling the stories of this region, and now I’m thrilled to wake up with viewers every morning and continue doing what I love — just with a lot more cameras around.”

Rick joins the team during a time of renewed energy and focus on delivering local news that matters. His blend of professionalism, humour, and heart will complement the dynamic team that makes Morning Live a staple in so many households.

“Rick and I once shared a police scanner, a notepad, and way too many stale donuts,” said Morning Live co-anchor Annette Hamm. “To say I’m thrilled to have him beside me again, this time with better lighting, is an understatement.”

“Rick’s reputation speaks for itself,” added Greg O’Brien, CHCH news director. “He’s trusted, relatable, and deeply rooted in this community. We’re excited to have him bring his knowledge and perspective to our anchor desk as we continue to evolve the show while staying true to what makes Morning Live special.”

Rick Zamperin will make his Morning Live debut on Monday, May 12 at 6 a.m.
