3 shoulder season travel destinations to visit

The shoulder season is the travel period between high season and low season, and it’s a fantastic time to travel. Travel writer Natalie Preddie joined us this morning with some of her favourite destinations that are perfect for adults and kids.

Banff is a great place to visit at the end of September, beginning of October because you get to see the leaves changing colour. It is still sunny and is also a great chance to see Lake Louise before it freezes over. If you want an active vacation full of hikes and beautiful scenery then a trip to Alberta in the fall should be added to your bucket list.

Another great place to visit is San Diego, and since American schools start in August, the shoulder season is earlier and you can visit great attractions like Legoland or the San Diego Zoo without it being too crowded. There is plenty to see and do as a family, or with a partner or friends.

And lastly, why not visit Italy? While Italy has become a popular travel destination it is also very hot there in the summer, which makes travelling there in September the perfect time. From cooking classes to wineries and museums, this is a place you don’t want to miss.
