Minister kicks in federal bucks to bolster 403 bridges

First Published:

A new infrastructure project could make the ride smoother if you use highway 403.

Canada’s transport minister, Denis Lebel, has announced improvements to a number of bridges along it.

“On highway 403 near Brantford upgrades to the Grand River bridge will improve everyday travel and highway safety. Modernizing our highways reduces gridlock, improves commute times and helps Canada’s economy become competitive. Smarter and safer highways also saves everybody money at the pumps.”

One of the bridges in for a major facelift is the one over the Grand River. An investment of $10.7 million will go toward fixing up the highway 403 bridge there. In total over $100 million will go toward infrastructure projects in Ontario.
