A Milton subcontractor who worked on garden projects with alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur says he believes he saw one of the victims working on a job site.
Toronto police say Andrew Kinsman and Selim Essen were presumed to be murdered by the 66-year-old landscaper. McArthur is also facing three other murder charges.
Investigators continue their search of approximately 30 properties connected to McArthur.
Matt MacKinnon says he met the alleged serial killer at “Terra” Garden Centre in Milton back in 2011. They worked on at least three landscape projects together.
Police confirmed human remains were found in planters. Forensic pathologists are now sifting through the contents of at least 15 new planters. Police say human remains may not be found in all of the planters but they have seized anything that the canine units have picked up on.
MacKinnon says he is shocked by the allegations, saying McArthur was personable with a good sense of humour who cared about his customers.
Toronto police say it could take months for all skeletal remains that are found to be identified.
