Meth, cocaine, fentanyl seized from car in downtown Hamilton

A 42-year-old man is facing drug trafficking charges after police seized more than $45,000 worth of drugs from a vehicle in downtown Hamilton.

Officers were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of Hunter St. and Caroline St. South around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Police were told a Hyundai Accent had been sitting idling for several hours. Officers arrived on scene and woke up a man who was sleeping inside the car.

Investigators discovered there was a warrant out for the man’s arrest from another police agency.

Stephen Dean, of Hamilton, was arrested and officers searched his vehicle. Police seized cash, cocaine, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and a large quantity of meth worth roughly $45,000.

Dean is facing several drug trafficking charges and breaching probation.
