McGuinty condemns London riot

More charges are expected to be laid after the weekend riot near London’s Fanshawe College.

Road crews have repaired a hole on Fleming Drive, where a mob set fire to a vehicle, furniture, and other property. Eight of the 13 people charged are Fanshawe students, who have also been suspended. Police are now sifting through several Facebook and Twitter postings to look for more suspects.

Premier Dalton McGuinty is condemning the St Patrick’s day riot.

“I think it’s very unfortunate and clearly unacceptable behavior fully expect charges will be laid and that the matter will be dealt with according to the law obviously as society that’s something we frown upon strongly discourage and in fact that activity is illegal.”

An estimated one thousand people took to the streets Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Damage is estimated at $100,000.
