The man found guilty in the death of a York Regional Police officer will spend the next four years behind bars.
Detective Constable Robert Plunkett, 42, died when a stolen car driven by Nadeem Jiwa pinned him against a tree in Markham. This happened in August, 2007.
Jiwa, 23, was recently convicted of manslaughter. The judge sentenced him to 12 years, but gave him credit for time served.
