Man taken to hospital after crash in Niagara-on-the-Lake

A man is in hospital after a crash in Niagara-on-the-Lake that left him trapped in the vehicle.

Police were called to the area of Taylor Rd. and Homer Rd. around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A vehicle travelling northbound on Homer Rd. went through a fence at the intersection and ended up in the ditch.

Reports from the scene say the man was trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters.

The driver was taken to a hospital in Hamilton with serious injuries. The passenger was not injured.

Niagara Regional Police are investigating.
