Residents in the area of Beckett Drive in Pelham were told to stay inside as police investigated reports of a distraught man just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Niagara police say they received information of a possible firearm inside the home and the Emergency Task Unit was called.
With the assistance of crisis negotiators, the 42-year-old man surrendered peacefully to officers just before noon.
Michael Misener of Pelham is facing a number of charges including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
