A 72-year-old man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash in Caledonia.

It happened on Haldimand Road 9 at the corner of River Road just before 7:00am Monday. OPP say the white truck he was driving collided head-on with a red pick-up truck at the intersection. A 25-year-old female was treated for minor injuries.

Police say that they do not believe speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash. The investigation is on-going.

Haldimand Road 9 from Hwy 54 to 4th Line is expected to remain closed for several hours.
