Man, 29, identified as victim of targeted Mississauga shooting

Peel Regional Police have released the identity of a man who was fatally shot in Mississauga Monday evening.

Officers were called to the area of Alicante St. and Dream Crest Rd. shortly after 7:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

Residents in the area reported hearing four loud, continuous gunshots just 10 minutes before police received the call.

Peel Regional Police responded to the area of Alicante St. and Dream Crest Rd. in Mississauga for reports of a shooting.

Officers have identified 29-year-old Bryan Lara-Alvarez of Mississauga as the victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident and there is no threat to public safety.

No information has been released regarding a possible suspect or motive.
