Man shot in face with BB gun following argument in Hamilton

A 58-year-old man was taken to hospital after he was shot in the face with a BB gun over the weekend.

Hamilton police were called to a home in the area of Cannon St. East and Wentworth St. North around 2 a.m. on Saturday.

Officers found a man suffering from non-life threatening injuries after being shot with a BB gun.

Police say the shooting happened following a verbal argument between two men.

The victim was treated by paramedics on scene before being transported to hospital. He was later released.

Police were granted a warrant to search the home of the alleged shooter. The Emergency Response Unit was called in to assist with the search.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 22-year-old man. He is wanted for assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats and fail to comply with recognizance.

Police say they will release his name once the charges have been “sworn to and brought properly before the Court.”
