Man robbed by armed teen while trying to sell phone in Hamilton

First Published:

Hamilton police are investigating after a man in his twenties was robbed while trying to sell his cell phone to a person he met online.

Police say the man had arranged to meet the buyer in a plaza near Mud St. and Paramount St.

They say the buyer pulled a knife on the man and stole his cell phone.

The suspect is described as white, between 16 and 18 years old, roughly six-feet tall and was wearing a black hoodie.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact Hamilton police.

Police are reminding the public to be vigilant when selling property through an online site. Residents should always meet in a well-lit area and bring someone with you.
