Man in hospital with serious injuries following stabbing in Niagara Falls

A man has been arrested and another is in hospital following a stabbing in Niagara Falls.

Officers were called to the area of Clifton Hill near Victoria Ave. around 1:43 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police found a man in his 20s suffering from a “serious laceration” from a knife.

Investigators learned the victim had been walking on the sidewalk when he stopped to talk to a man and woman. Police say during the course of the conversation, the man “cut the victim with a knife” and then fled the area.

The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers discovered the knife on a nearby street and made an arrest roughly three hours later at a home in the area of Buchanan Ave. and Spring St.

Shawn Leonard Issacs, 46, of Niagara Falls has been charged with aggravated assault.
