A man is dead after a crash in West Lincoln last night.

Emergency responders were called to Silver Street near Port Davidson Road around 9:30 pm, where they found an eastbound vehicle driven by a 55-year-old man from Fonthill had struck a piece of farm equipment being towed by a westbound John Deere tractor.

He was killed by the impact.  The tractor driver did not remain at the scene.

He was later stopped by a homeowner upset that the farm equipment had damaged a number of mailboxes.  The homeowner was unaware of the earlier fatal collision.

The tractor was last seen northbound on Smithville Road from Caistor Gainsboro Townline Road.

Police believe area residents know the tractor driver and are asking for their help in identifying him.
