Man charged with sexual assault in St. Catharines

Niagara Regional Police have charged a man after a woman was sexually assaulted in St. Catharines on Sunday.

An unlicensed cab picked up the woman in the St. Paul St. and Ontario St. area of the city around midnight.

Police say he drove the woman to a parking lot where she was sexually assaulted.

Mahmoud Al Arag, 39, of St. Catharines was charged with sexual assault.

Al Arag is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Monday.
