The RCMP say the man charged in Thursday’s incident at Rideau Hall was armed with two shotguns, a rifle and a revolver.

That’s according to court documents, which show Corey Hurren is facing 21 charges related to the weapons.

He is also accused of threatening to cause death or bodily harm to the prime minister.

Police say Hurren, a Canadian Forces member, rammed his truck through a gate at Rideau Hall in Ottawa around 6 a.m. Thursday.

He got out of the vehicle and headed in the direction of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s residence.

After talking to him for 90 minutes, officers were able to arrest him.

Trudeau was not on the grounds of Rideau Hall that morning but he is temporarily living near the Rideau Hall estate.

Hurren is a reservist in the Canadian Rangers.

He was on full-time duty through the summer under a program meant to help respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
