Halton Regional Police have made an arrest in a road rage incident in Oakville.

Officers responded to reports of an assault at the intersection of Fourth Line and North Service Road around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

They determined one vehicle had followed another vehicle to that intersection.

Police say the driver of the first vehicle got out of the car and repeatedly kicked the door of the second vehicle, which had two people inside.

A physical altercation followed between the three parties.

Roger Mario Freitas, 40, was arrested at the scene and charged.

The Brampton man faces two counts of assault, dangerous driving, mischief under $5,000 and causing a disturbance.

Freitas has been released and is expected to appear in court in August.

Halton Police are reminding people to avoid confrontation if targeted by an aggressive driver.

If you find yourself in a dangerous situation, stay in your car, lock your doors and call 911.
