Niagara police have arrested a man in connection with a fight in Welland early Thursday morning.
Officers were called to a home on Jefferson Ct. W, near Lancaster Dr. around 6 a.m.
They say there was a fight between two men. One of the men was armed with a “machete-style knife” and struck the other.
Police say the victim, a man in his 30s, suffered serious injuries. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and then transported to local hospital.
Officers made an arrest at the scene.
Daylen Christian Gyldenbjerg, 26, has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He’s also facing drug trafficking charges.
