Man armed with shotgun threatens workers at Hamilton Tim Hortons, steals cash

Hamilton police are investigating an early morning armed robbery at a local Tim Hortons.

It happened at the coffee shop at 675 Mohawk Rd. East shortly before 3:45 a.m. on Friday.

Police say a man armed with what appeared to be a shotgun, threatened employees and demanded cash.

He fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No suspected description has been released at this time.

The employees were not physically hurt during the robbery.

Police say there will be a heavy police presence in the area as forensic investigators process the scene and officers canvass the neighbourhood for witnesses and video.

The Tim Hortons location is currently closed.
