Man armed with pellet rifle robs Brantford pharmacy

First Published:

Brantford police are investigating an armed robbery at a local pharmacy on Thursday.

Officers responded to a 911 call at a business on Colborne St. and Dalhousie St. around 5:45 p.m.

Police say a masked man entered the store and hid behind the pharmacy counter.

The man was carrying what appeared to be a pellet rifle and demanded fentanyl and hydromorphone from the employees.

The staff complied and handed over an unknown amount of hydromorphone tablets and several fentanyl patches.

The thief got into a brief confrontation with a customer before fleeing the area on a bike.

No one was hurt during the incident.

The suspect is described as white, roughly five-foot-eight, with an average build. He was wearing a black jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a green baseball hat. He was carrying a red hiking-style backpack with white stripes and silver straps.

The thief was captured on a surveillance camera riding a red or maroon coloured mountain bike as he fled the scene.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact police at 519-756-7050, or Det. Chad Francis at 519-756-0113, ext, 2272.
