Many people are making New Year resolutions and that may include a career change.
But what if you lack the skills needed in today’s digital economy?
Andrew Liu from the Fort Erie International Academy joined Annette Hamm on Morning Live to share how a new course can help sharpen your digital skills.
“One of the problems with digital literacy is that a lot of people don’t even know where to start,” Liu said in an interview on Thursday.
The online course called Tech 101 includes 10 modules teaching the fundamental and useful skills necessary to navigate the digital job market.
Professionals working in digital careers present the information through interactive lessons, quizzes and one-hour learning modules.
Participants can also get involved in moderated discussions with classmates, instructors and industry professionals.
Liu said this online course teaches students what employers are looking for, including digital literacy and effectively working from home.
“These are things such as the ability to send effective emails, conduct video calls and become a productive employee from a work-from-home perspective,” he said.
It also includes the interpersonal, collaborative and teamwork skills needed to work with your colleagues from home.
When you complete the program, you will receive a professional digital certificate. You can register for Tech 101 here.
