London man drowns after falling off boat: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police says a 49-year-old man has died after falling out of a boat on Lake Erie.

Emergency crews were called to a possible drowning in Lake Erie between Port Bruce and Port Burwell in Malahide Township around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say a man fell into the water from a vessel while fishing with friends.

He was pulled from the water and transported to land.

Police say the man’s friends attempted life-saving measures before paramedics arrived.

He was taken to hospital where he later died.

Police have identified the man as Ryan Leppard-Groenewegen, of London.

No foul play is suspected.
