The John Howard Society of Hamilton, Burlington & Area is a Not-for-Profit organization and a registered charity in good standing with the Government of Canada. Our agency works with justice involved individuals and is committed to providing a continuum of evidence based and impact driven prevention and intervention services supporting individuals and families to develop the skills and assets necessary to make positive and long lasting life changes, enabling them to become fully engaged members of the community.

Our major fundraiser for this year will take place on Nov. 6. We will be presenting “Telling Canada’s Story – An Evening With Mike Downie”. Mike Downie is the brother of Tragically Hip frontman, Gord Downie. Amongst many other things, Mike directed the documentary “The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal”, and “Blue Rodeo – The Scenes in Between”. Mike will be speaking to crowd on his experiences in film, music and life in Canada. The event will begin with a cocktail reception with the Acoustically Hip playing live covers prior to the main event.
