Local teams do well at Gretzky tourney

First Published:

Two local hockey teams had something to celebrate after this weekend’s Wayne Gretzky Tournament in Brantford.

This picture was sent to us from Brian Ecker. It’s of the Hamilton Hub Minor Atom Tigers, after winning the gold medal at the Wayne Gretzky Tournament held this past weekend. That’s the team posing with the one and only walter gretzky. This was no fluke: the Tigers also won the Canadian Tire Classic in Barrie back in November.

Congratulations as well to the Ancaster Avalanche Minor Peewee AE team. They won at the tournament as well. It’s no fluke for them either, as just last November they won gold medals in the Detroit Motown Cup.
