Loaded firearm found in Brantford park

First Published:

A man in Brantford stumbled on a gun while out walking his dog in a Hickory Park last Friday. He handed it over to police and now they’re looking for the owner.

The .22 calibre Derringer was abandoned in a plastic bag, next to a garbage can. It wasn’t loaded, but there were seven rounds of ammunition in the bag.

Anyone with information is asked to call detective constable Jason Nagy of Brantford’s major crime unit at 519-756-0113 x2206, or submit a tip to Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
