Larry di Ianni not in the running

Former Hamilton Mayor Larry di Ianni has announced he will not be running in this year’s election.

This is the first time since 1982 that di Ianni hasn’t been on the ballot. He made the announcement on Twitter today and released a statement on his Facebook page, saying he’ll still play an active role in hamilton. he also outlined what he believes were his greatest political accomplishments.

di Ianni served as mayor from 2003 to 2006, and also served on the Stoney Creek city council for 18 years. During his time as mayor, he advocated for a number of anti-poverty initiatives, and the completion of the Red Hill Valley Parkway.
