The Kawartha Lakes constituency office of Ontario’s Labour Minister Laurie Scott has been vandalized.
Scott released pictures showing broken windows and spray painted wall. The incident comes on the heels of the Ford government’s proposed changes to labour legislation which include scrapping a planned hike in minimum wage to $15 an hour, and two paid personal leave days for all workers.
Regarding the vandalism and break-in Premier Ford tweeted:
Last night in Kawartha Lakes, the constituency office of Minister of Labour Laurie Scott was broken into and vandalized. These actions have no place in our democracy. Thank you to the local police officers and the OPP, who are now investigating this very serious incident.
