A creation of the late Tom Clancy, Jack Ryan appeared in over 10 novels. The character has also appeared on the big screen four times and makes his return in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Following in the footsteps of Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck, Chris Pine steps into the role as the young CIA analyst who uncovers a Russian plot to destroy the US economy. The film co-stars Keira Knightly, Kevin Costner, and Kenneth Branagh.
Director Kenneth Branagh is known for acting in his own films, and Shadow Recruit is no different. The Northern Irish actor adopts a Russian accent to play the movie’s villain. Costner will be getting a lot of screen time in 2014. Along with Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Costner can be seen in the upcoming films Draft Day, 3 Days to Kill, Black and White, and is currently shooting McFarland that could be out by the end of the year.This is the second time the Jack Ryan franchise has gone through a reboot, the first being 2002’s The Sum of All Fears. The film will be dedicated to Tom Clancy, who passed away last October.
