Illicit drugs, cash and loaded gun seized in Hamilton, two men charged

Police have arrested two men in their twenties after police seized drugs, cash and a loaded handgun during a traffic stop in central Hamilton.

Officers on patrol in the area of King William St. and Victoria Ave. North pulled over a Hyundai Sonata shortly before 10 p.m. on Nov.10.

Police say the passenger in the car was not wearing a seatbelt and lied to police about his identity. Officers discovered the man was in violation of a court order and told him he was under arrest. The men fled and, following a brief foot chase, was arrested.

Police say the driver was also arrested after a loaded, prohibited handgun was found inside the vehicle. A quantity of illicit drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia were also seized.

Marcus Holness, 22, and Blake Turner, 22, are facing several weapons and drug related charges.
