Boyhood director Richard Linklater followed up his award-winning adolescent drama with this snapshot of the ’80s that he described as a “spiritual sequel” to Dazed and Confused. The film – which featured a cast of up-and-coming actors including Blake Jenner, Tyler Hoechlin, and Wyatt Russell – garnered critical acclaim with an 87% Rotten Tomato score; it’s definitely worth checking out if you feel like spending a night in. Special features on the home video release include “Everybody Wants Some!! More Stuff That’s Not in the Movie” and “History 101: Stylin’ the 80s”.
The Divergent Series: Allegiant
[projekktor id=’24721′]
The Divergent Series never turned into the blockbuster franchise Lionsgate hoped it would. Instead, young adult fatigue set in and the series has become pretty irrelevant. Allegiant was originally split into two parts with the second due for release next year, but the fourth and final film got retitled Ascendant and will conclude the franchise in June. The Blu-ray package for Allegiant features audio commentary with producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher, and six featurettes including “Allegiant: Book to Film”, “The Next Chapter: Cast & Characters”, and “Building the Bureau”.
