Hitting the brakes

Now that the threat of snow is behind us this is the time of year many people switch their winter tires for all-seasons but experts are advising drivers to take a closer look at their brakes.

Experts are asking drivers to pump the figurative break on getting their original breaks replaced without inquiring about where they are made.

Several executives with Canadian-based brake companies believe that people are unknowingly replacing their factory-grade breaks with those made with cheaper material from lower-cost countries.

Experts say that the cheaper materials tend to rust quicker and separate from the the friction material.
