History was made at the Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday night. For the first time ever, actors of colour swept the individual awards in the ‘movie’ category. Best Male Actor went to the late Chadwick Boseman for his role in ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’ while co-star Viola Davis won for Best Female Actor. Best Male Supporting Actor went to Daniel Kaluuya for ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’ while Best Female Supporting Actor went to Yuh-Jung Youn for ‘Minari.’ On the small screen, the CBC sitcom ‘Schitt’s Creek’ scored more award wins. It won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Cast and Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor which went to Catherine O’Hara.
