Snowstorm cancellations for Hamilton, Halton, Niagara regions

A snowstorm is causing messy driving conditions across the majority of southern Ontario.

Snowfall warnings have been issued for most of the southern and eastern parts of the province on Wednesday.

Environment Canada says several regions, including the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, can expect to see up to 20 cm of snow. Windsor and Niagara could see about 15 cm of snow.

Multiple schools and municipalities have opened but some are still experiencing closure on Thursday, and school bus schedules are affected due to poor road conditions in certain areas.

Hamilton

Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board: All schools and administrative buildings are closed on Thursday due to road conditions.

Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board: All schools and administration offices are open on Thursday, but student transportation is cancelled.

McMaster University: The campus is open on Thursday and classes are running as scheduled.

Halton Region

Halton District School Board: All schools are open, but school buses are cancelled on Thursday.

Halton Catholic District School Board: All schools are open, but student transportation is cancelled on Thursday.

City of Burlington: All city facilities are scheduled to open on Thursday.

Niagara Region

District School Board of Niagara: All schools are open, the Niagara Student Transportation Services announced on Thursday that student transpiration is running today but delays are anticipated due to road conditions in some areas.

Niagara Catholic District School Board: All schools are open, buses are running, but there may be delays on rural routes.

Haldimand-Norfolk and Brant Counties

Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board: Schools are open Thursday, buses may experience delay.

Grand Erie District School Board: Schools are open, however, bus delays are expected on Thursday.
