Hercules is an action-adventure film directed by Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men: The Last Stand). Dwayne Johnson stars as the legendary demigod who returns home after his twelve labours to find a new warlord is terrorizing the land. After seeing his wife murdered, Hercules and his warrior pals are hired by the King of Thrace to train an army and end a bloody civil war, all while battling some mythical enemies. The films co-stars Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan, and John Hurt.
If there’s one actor that can realistically portray the Greek strongman it’s Dwayne Johnson (sorry Kellan Lutz), and he’s been looking forward to the opportunity for some time now. “Making a movie about Hercules has been a passion project of mine for a very, very, very long time. He’s a character who over the centuries has been an inspiration to many, myself included. But this time, we wanted to give audiences a Hercules they’ve never seen before. When we meet Hercules in this movie, he’s an exile suffering with regrets, fighting only for gold. He has to overcome his demons and find his heart to become the man people want him to be.”
