Hamilton’s Christie Antique & Vintage Show cancelled

Hamilton’s Christie Antique & Vintage Show has been cancelled.

The Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) says it took an operational review of the show and its conservation area experiences. Analysis shows costs are increasing, while attendance is largely dependent on weather.

The HCA says it has seen an unprecedented surge of public interest in enjoying conservation area. HCA memberships grew from 6,000 in 2019 to over 12,000 in 2021 and daily visitation number are also up across HCA properties.

“Closing off the park to some of those activities in order to prepare and host large events, like the Christie Show, is simply now too hard to justify,” said HCA in a statement.

As a result, HCA decided to cease operating all future Christie Antique & Vintage Shows.

HCA says it will still welcome smaller third-party events.

“The Hamilton Conservation Authority thanks all of our dealers, vendors, suppliers, patrons, staff and everyone else involved with putting on the show for more than 30 years. We had an incredible run and wish everyone all the best in the future,” said HCA in a statement.
