Hamilton Tiger-Cats Chat with head coach Orlondo Steinauer after East semi-final victory

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats beat the Montreal Alouettes 12-23 in the East Semi-Final. They will play the Toronto Argonauts in the East Final Dec. 5 at 12:30 p.m. at BMO Field in Toronto.

The Ticats are back at practice Tuesday and Steinauer says his message to the team is it’s time to “turn the page.”

“I always want our organization and everyone involved to enjoy a win because they’re not easy to come by, especially playoff wins,” said Steinauer. “You have to enjoy the journey, but you also have to be mature enough to turn the page.”

He says the Ticats are going to watch the game back to review how they can play better, but acknowledged that the team did great.

Stenauer says the defense harassed the Alouettes quarterback great, as well as protecting the Ticats quarter-back. He says the special teams did a great job being physical and the offence came out with plenty of points to keep them ahead.

“The goal is always to win and it was great to do it in front of such an amazing crowd at Tim Horton’s Field,” said Steinauer.

As for what the team can improve on going forward, he says special teams need to find a way to make game changing plays whether it’s a big return or a block punt. Offensively, Steinauer says they need to be a little more efficient and keep the defence off the field.
