Hamilton store clerk tries to fend off robber with baseball bat

Police are investigating after a masked man robbed a convenience store on Hamilton Mountain.

Officers were called to the Anytime Convenience on Upper James St. near Fennel Ave. Monday evening.

Investigators say a man went through the store and grabbed the cash register. The store clerk attempted to chase after the thief and swung at him with a baseball bat.

The robber managed to flee the area with the cash register.

Members of the Hamilton Police K9 Unit searched the area but could not locate the suspect.

He is described as white, in his late twenties, roughly five-foot-nine with a medium build.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Hamilton police.
