Resident uses bear spray to ward off intruders in Hamilton home invasion

Hamilton police are investigating an early morning home invasion in central Hamilton.

Police say three people entered a home on Cheever St. shortly after 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

One of two residents who were inside the home used bear spray to chase off the intruders. The trio fled from the home and have not been located. The residents were not injured.

Hamilton police did investigate a silver Chrysler vehicle found in the area but have determined it was not related to the incident.

The Hamilton Fire Department had to be called in to ventilate the home because of the amount of bear spray discharged.
