Hamilton police to hand out Bulldogs tickets during RIDE program

First Published:

Police will be rewarding some safe drivers during RIDE checks in Hamilton this holiday season.

Hamilton Police Service and the Hamilton Bulldogs have once again partnered up for their Festive Ride Lane program to help reduce impaired driving.

The program kicks off on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Officers stationed at RIDE lanes outside of First Ontario Place on Bay St. will be handing out Bulldogs ticket vouchers to drivers who successfully go through the lanes.

The aim of the ticket voucher program is to remind drivers of the dangers of impaired driving and to encourage responsible driving practices.

Police are also asking citizens to participate in the Operation Lookout program – a year-round awareness campaign encouraging the public to report suspected impaired drivers to 911 as a crime in progress.

“If someone is suspected of impaired driving, citizens are asked to call 911 immediately,” said Hamilton police in a news release.
