Hamilton Police seize guns inside Charlton Ave. apartment

A Hamilton man who police were investigating in a domestic incident is facing weapons and animal cruelty charges.

Police were called to a home on Mohawk Rd. W around 5:30 a.m. Monday.

There was an argument between a man and woman inside.

Police say the man kicked her dog in the face and damaged a screen window.

They were told he had a shotgun at his apartment on Charlton Ave. W.

A search warrant was obtained and officers seized the following items from the home:

  • Shotgun Remington Model 1100
  • Shotgun shells
  • Black Stun Gun / Taser
  • Black shotgun-style pellet gun
  • Two black handgun style pellet guns

Michael Roussel, 41, has been charged with mischief under $5,000, cruelty to animals, possession of a prohibited weapon and careless use, carry, transport, storage of firearm.

Police say Roussel is bound by firearm prohibition orders.
