Hamilton Police search for suspect in three sexual assaults

First Published:

Hamilton Police are planning a stronger presence in Bayfront Park and Westdale after three reported sexual assaults.

Two reports were made to Hamilton Police on Thursday.

During both incidents, a man on a bicycle approached the women from behind and slapped them on their bottoms.

He continued on his bike not looking back.

One was in the Longwood Rd. area and the other was near Churchill Park.

Both happened around 8:30 p.m.

A very similar incident happened at Bayfront Park on Canada Day.

“With the information we have at this time, we believe one person is responsible for three incidents,” said Const. Jerome Stewart with Hamilton Police.

Police are searching for a man, around 20-30 years old, with a slim build and dark collar-length hair.

They are asking anyone who was in the area to check their phones and security cameras for a man matching the description.
